Treatment of Wastewater from Petroleum Industry: Current Practices and Perspectives
Varjani et al, (2007). QÚA "Treatment of Wastewater from Petroleum Industry: Current Practices and Perspectives" aga The petroleum industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the world.
This industry contributes greatly to the economic development of developing countries.
However, the water is polluted due to various wastes coming out from this petroleum industry.
That is, the pollutants coming out of this industry are sewage, petroleum, hydrocarbons, oil, grease, phenol, ammonia, sulphuret etc.
Other minerals are found. This study analyzes and explains methods of managing effluents from the petroleum industry.
In addition, this study leads to an assessment of the knowledge gaps in the sector and the classification of various management techniques for future research.
Membrane technology, photocatalytic degradation technology, improved oxidation system, electrochemical catalysis etc. have been mentioned in this study as the best methods for treating the wastewater released in the petroleum industry.
Through this study, the process of purifying and reusing the waste water discharged in large quantities has been guided. This study has been carried out focusing only on industrial waste.
However, my research has been done based on rain water, domestic domestic waste and industrial waste and the results have been presented.
Amoatey and Bani, (2011). Wastewater treatment is mentioned as a new practice in the research paper "Wastewater Management".
However, they also mentioned that drainage systems were built before the 19th century. Earlier Nightsoil also mentioned that buckets were placed on the streets to collect sewage and the workers emptied it into carriers called Honeywagons. And they have been sent to agricultural lands in rural areas and thrown out.
Wastewater treatment is a very important process to protect the environment. The main objective of this study is to ensure that the wastewater is treated and a very safe environment.
It is stated that public health should be maintained by treating sewage and thereby protecting the environment. Based on that, conventional non-conventional methods of wastewater treatment are found.
Based on that, it has been emphasized that waste water should be treated and managed in conventional and non-conventional ways.
However, despite the challenges in sewage management, they are addressed and methods to address them are mentioned.
Also in this study the types of wastewater, characteristics of wastewater, stages of wastewater, conventional methods of wastewater management.
