16. Nithiyanandam and Balagi, (2019). "Sustainable Micro-Level Planning Measures for Effective Management of Wastewater in Urban Areas-Using Geo-Informatics as a Tool- A case Study of Thiruchiraipalli City" χώ study analyzes and specifies micro-level planning measures for maintaining sustainable wastewater management in cities.
For that, this research has been carried out based on the city of Tiruchirappalli, India. Tirachiraipalli city is a big city. In most parts of the city, Centralized Treatment System is widely used in sewage management.
However, the Centralized Treatment System is not functioning in some of the major hotspots of the city. So it is mentioned that sustainable development can be maintained by using Decentralized Treatment System in those Hotspots.
For this, information about the population of the area, total number of houses, water supply system etc. has been collected and analyzed. As a result of this study, 21 Hotspots have been identified in Tiruchirappalli and they have been divided into four zones and planned as Decentralized Waste water Treatment System sites.
