35th Anniversary of the National Library of Sri Lanka – Essay Competition

 

To celebrate 35 years of excellence, the National Library of Sri Lanka is organizing a grand essay competition under the theme "One Nation, One National Library". This is your chance to showcase your creativity and win exciting prizes!

Prizes:

🏆 1st Place: Rs. 50,000
🥈 2nd Place: Rs. 30,000
🥉 3rd Place: Rs. 20,000

Eligibility:

  • Open to Sri Lankan citizens of all ages.

Essay Guidelines:

  • Languages: Sinhala, Tamil, or English.
  • Format: Write on A4 paper, using only one side. Essays must be handwritten.
  • Word Limit:
    • Sinhala/Tamil: Maximum 1,200 words.
    • English: Maximum 1,000 words.

Submission Details:

  • Send your essays to Director General, National Library of Sri Lanka, Independence Avenue, Colombo 07.
  • Alternatively, submit via WhatsApp at 071 4343657 or email at reader@natisl.lk.

Deadline:

  • Essays must reach the library on or before January 31, 2025.

Additional Information:

  • Attach your full name, contact details, and NIC or birth certificate number with the essay.
  • Essays submitted for the competition will not be returned.
